Mythos is a competitive strategy card game for 2-4 players, where you build an army of gods, goddesses, and various mythical entities to battle against your opponent(s), gathering essence to power up to victory.
Over the course of the game, you will summon different mythical units into your party, alternating between taking down opposing units and building up your collection of essence (sometimes at the same time) until you achieve victory upon reaching 20 essence.
The gameplay behind Mythos was inspired by games such as Pokémon TCG, Hearthstone, and Unstable Unicorns. There is a strong focus on crafting synergies using your units, planning your moves, and controlling the board. This causes the game to be both strategic and chaotic at the same time. Sure, maybe you have your next 3 turns all mapped out. But what happens when your opponent plays the Wheel of Fortune and switches hands with you?! Time to replan!
A low skill floor but a high skill ceiling means that even the most experienced player should not underestimate the newbie.
The standard edition comes with the base game, including all marks, tokens, and cards.
